What We Believe

Unity is grounded in five simple, practical principles that guide how we see God, ourselves, and how we're called to live.

Our History: Unity was founded in 1889 in Kansas City, Missouri by Charles and Myrtle Fillmore. Myrtle's healing from tuberculosis and a restoration to wholeness through prayer, meditation, and affirmations sparked what grew into a worldwide spiritual movement - now home to hundreds of Unity communities across the globe. Unity of Fort Lauderdale has been part of that movement since 1951, serving Broward County for over seven decades through changing seasons, always centered on the same truth: love and connection change lives.
